EXTRAS NEEDED (+ event filming news)
Tuesday, June 21, 2011 18:20
Hi,
We have the final scene of our society film to shoot tomorrow, and it’s the big one in Collingwood bar. We need as many extras as possible to make the scene look realistic so if you’re not doing anything tomorrow come up to Collingwood for 9 am. It shouldn’t take too long meaning you’ll have the rest of the day free!
Also, anyone who was a camera person for Instep, please email Annabelle ASAP (thepinkgrinch@gmail.com) so she can credit you on the film.
Finally, we have one more play to film: The Last Prophet (7 pm at Van Mildert). Email me (secretary@durhamstudentfilm.co.uk) for details if interested.
Thanks!
Ellie

Social; and other happenings
Monday, June 20, 2011 19:39
Aloha!
Unfortunately, there will not be any meeting today.
However, this Thursday, the 23rd June, is going to be the date for our end of term celebrations. We’ll be having a final social of the year, which is also something of a wrap party for the last scene of the society film, which will be shot on Wednesday.
We’ll be heading to Spags, which is at 66 Saddler Street if you’re not familiar, at around 7:30. We’ll eat, and then go up to Fabio’s for some drinks, with a view to hitting a couple more bars and potentially a club as the evening progresses. The Facebook Event is here: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=155041691233140 so RSVP if you’re up for it so we have an idea of numbers.
If anybody is interested in being involved with shooting of the final scene of this year’s society film, “Killing A Man”, come along to Collingwood Bar on Wednesday. The filming will kick off at 9am, and we’d love some people to help out, act as extras in the background and do some techy set stuff. Come along if you want to see what we get up to when the ball starts rolling.
Additionally, on Wednesday evening, a play; “The Last Prophet” will be performed in the Castle College Fellows Gardens. We’re looking for somebody to film this production, so if anybody wants to get involved with some event filming or watch a play, let us know.
See you all on Thursday!

Post-Exam Activities
Tuesday, June 7, 2011 20:41
Hi,
Hope everyone’s exams went well and people aren’t getting too bored by the post-exam freedom! If you are though, we’ve got a number of different activities for you to get involved in to make the most of the last few weeks including finishing our society film and a 48-hour film competition.
We’ll be introducing a lot of these in our meeting on Monday – 7:00, ER 148 – as well as editing our society trailer we filmed last meeting and following it up with a drink at the pub.
The 48-hour film competition will probably be sometime after the 17th of June but we’ll be using the meeting on Monday to sort out a date that is good for everyone who wants to be involved.
We’ll also be discussing plans for next year which include running a Durham Film Festival in the second term and creating links with Durham Student Theatre so that we can benefit from experienced actors and they can benefit from us filming events.
We always welcome new faces so feel free to come along if any of this sounds vaguely appealing
Ellie
PS. We’ll also be sorting out people to film plays, etc. coming up so if you’re interested in that we’ll see you there!
