CASTING CALL: EXTRAS NEEDED
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 15:57
Tomorrow we will be filming a scene for the society film in the Vane Tempest Room in the DSU from 9 am til 1 pm and urgently need extras. It is the scene in the club and will therefore need the room to be crowded. If you can stop by for any amount of time between 9 am and 1 pm that would be amazing!
If you or anyone else you know has an hour to kill between lectures or anything similar, make the most of your time and be in a film!
Bring your friends - thanks,

DSF EXEC MEETING MINUTES – Thursday, December 1, 2011
by Eleanor “I will make you cry” Onions – Secretary
2:00 pm – Ellie arrives at the Techno Café. It is full
2:10 pm – Ellie texts Will ‘The Techno Café is full. Where should we go?’
2:15 pm – Ellie and Will meet outside the CLC. It is cold. They discuss where to have the meeting. Will says the library. Ellie says the CLC as it is closer. They deliberate.
2:20 pm – Ellie and Will are in the CLC café. Where is Frances? They think Frances is at home. Where is Caleb? Caleb is late. Where is Lyle? They have no idea.* Where is Jon? Jon has a job.
2:22 pm – Ellie and Will discuss the society film. Will says what they have been filming has been amazing. He is also concerned about a number of things.
1) We do not have a ‘Frank’ yet. There is discussion that maybe we should cut this part.
2) The person cast as Anna will not be available to film this term. The decision is made to recast her, and get the filming done this term. Ellie is asked to book Vane Tempest.
2:30 pm – Caleb turns up. There are greetings and explanations for lateness.
2:31 pm – Will continues to talk about the society film. Caleb agrees that the filming with the Lumiere must have looked amazing.
2:35 pm – Will, Caleb and Ellie discuss the meeting on Monday. Caleb does not know what room it will be in. Will suggests showing people what has been filmed for the society film (which, he reiterates, looks amazing so far). This is agreed upon. They also agree that the final meeting of term will be the CHRISTMAS FUN FILMING BONANZA.**Will says he will bring presents. Caleb and Ellie are excited for Christmas. It is also decided to have 10 minutes for film pitching at the meeting, where members will vote to decide what will be done next term.
2:40 pm – Will discusses the ideas he has had for locations for the Durham Film Festival. It sounds like Vane Tempest will be the best bet.
2:45 pm – Caleb leaves.
2:46 pm – Ellie and Will discuss Durham Film Festival. Ellie suggests that each member of the society sends out an email to all of their friends in every different university encouraging them to submit films. Will thinks this is a good idea. It is also decided that Will will (!) try and get in touch with someone he knows who could run a workshop. Ellie and Will also decide that members should be informed of event filming and encouraged to help out whenever they can (as it is a good deal that they get to see plays for free).
3:00 pm – There is nothing more to discuss. Ellie and Will leave, feeling excited about the Durham Film Festival. And Christmas.
*It is later revealed that Lyle was in a seminar.
** The date was later altered by Caleb in an email sent out to the society to be December 5th. It was agreed to have CHRISTMAS FUN FILMING BONANZA Part 1 and Part 2.

Mega Monday Movie Meeting
Sunday, December 4, 2011 0:32
Hello all!
At our next meeting, at the usual time of 7pm on Monday in ER140, we will be having a CHRISTMAS FUN BONANZA which will involve showing the first stages of the Society Film (what’s been filmed already looks amazing!), discussing events coming up (namely the Durham Film Festival and events that need filming), with a Festive Flavour of Christmas Treats cooked up by our President.
We will also have 10 minutes for pitching of ideas, and then a vote to see which one we would like to work on for next term. So come with some proposals!
Our DSF CHRISTMAS MEAL will be at Fat Buddha at 7:30pm on Sunday (Tomorrow) – the guestlist is minimal at the minute because we don’t have everyone on facebook, but all are invited! http://www.facebook.com/events/205416932869359/
See you on Monday!
