Picture the scene: It’s midnight, you’re on Palace Green. There are exits to the North, South and West. The Cathedral looms ahead; wolves can be heard in the distance. Around you are figures carrying tripods, laptops and camera bags. As the echoes of the final chimes fade away, a figure steps out of the shadows. He carries a piece of paper and a cruel, mocking smile. It’s time for the Durham 48 Hour Film Competition to begin.
You meet in front of the Cathedral at midnight Friday, at which point you will be instructed as to what the theme of your film must be, and what elements need to also be included. From the stroke of midnight you have 48 hours to make your film, and must return to Palace Green midnight Sunday to deliver the finished product (IN AN ACCEPTABLE FORMAT) for judgement. Tears will be shed, cameras will be dropped and caffeine will be consumed. It’s a lot of fun really. Previous Competitions: Feburary 2009 |
