Updates on Several DSF Projects

Posted by Alex Parsons On October - 4 - 2009

Last year DSF was approached to create a silent film to accompany a performance of East (directed by Matthew Dale-Harris), which Freddie Byron and Tom Wolstenholme took on and did a fantastic job.  At the end of last term, the short was reshot with new actors and taken to the Fringe, where all accounts it did rather well. The short can now be seen on the website here, or below:

Over the summer we also created several welcome videos for International Students arriving at either of the Durham Campuses which can be viewed on the University website here and here, or watch the Durham video below:

In non-DSF news, The House Next Door is spending the week taking a look at Pixar which looks like it should be a good read so go do that.

New Year Update

Posted by Alex On October - 3 - 2009

Hi all, we at DSF are starting to get warmed up for a new year of film making – but first a nice boring administrative post, are you ready?

Finishing off last year’s business, our new exec!

Alex Parsons – President
Richard Duxbury – Vice President
Jon Gledhill – Treasurer
Kat Shrubb – Secretary
Matt Evenson – Events

But if you’re not sure who to contact, email the society at: dsf@durhamstudentfilm.co.uk

Second – why not be a fan of our spiffy new Facebook page? While we’re very attached to our dearly departed group, Science has proven that having the big DSF logo on the top left rather than the top right makes it at least 10 times as good at whatever it is that facebook does. Also, if you inclined in that way, why now follow us on Twitter at @dsfilm?

As for the near future, we’ll be at Fresher’s Fair at the DSU Tuesday and Wednesday, where the trailer for our next big outing ‘On the Chancellor’s Secret Service’ will be revealed, so come and look for us there! Details of our first meeting and this year’s zany schemes are to follow.
