~~ SCHEDULE ~~
(All events are FREE ENTRY)
> Friday 3rd February:
- 6:00pm – Van Mildert College – Workshop/Talk: “Screen Acting for Film and Television” with William Webb – A look at the different techniques, what directors are looking for in a performance, and how the process differs from theatre. (Spaces are limited, so could those interested please confirm attendance on this Facebook event)
- 7:30pm – Fonteyn Ballroom, Dunelm House (Durham Students’ Union) – Short Film Screening – The screening and judging of our chosen local and national short film entries. Confirm Attendance
- 9:00pm – Kingsgate Bar – An opportunity to find out more about Durham Student Film and the Durham Film scene, and for networking with judges.
> Saturday 4th February:
- 3:00pm – Elvet Riverside 149 – Workshop/Talk: “Making a Short Film” with Sandie Jamieson and Ken Grieve – an introduction to filmmaking essentials for anyone interested in film and cinema. Confirm Attendance
- 4:00pm – Elvet Riverside 149 – Workshop/Talk: “Screenwriting” with Sandie Jamieson and Ken Grieve – a guide to finding a concept, and writing a producible screenplay. Confirm Attendance
- 5:00pm – Elvet Riverside 149 – Workshop/Talk: “How to get ahead in Media” with Colin Webb – CAREERS TALK – A film focused careers talk on the media industry. Confirm Attendance
- 7:00pm – Kingsgate Bar – The festival will round off with a second opportunity for networking and discussion.

~~ SUBMISSIONS ~~

Entries open on the 31st August 2011, and the final deadline for submissions is January 31st 2012.
We are only accepting direct submissions from student filmmakers.
To qualify as a student film, it needs to have been made while the majority of those working on it are students in a full-time higher educational programme, for example; BA, MA, and PhD programmes. The course need not be related to film in any way.

- Your film on a DVD
- The SUBMISSION FORM (which can be downloaded here)
The submission form is a document with the name of your film, its running time, your name, and contact details. As this is a student film festival, we’d also like to know which university or school you are/were attending when it was made, and how old you are.
